[FAQ] Technical Issues

    While downloading, installing, or playing Twin Saga, you may experience some errors. This thread is a collection of known problems and how to solve them. If you have another error with, or without a solution, please share them with us!

    Installation does not start after download finishes or Gamigo Downloader has stopped working

    If the installation files have downloaded successfully but the client does not begin installing, you can go to C:\Program Files (x86)\AeriaGames\TwinSagaUS and find the installation files inside. Execute the file that has the ".exe" extension, and the game should begin installing.

    If the executable file has a size of 0 KB and cannot be run, delete it. Then, re-open the downloader. This step should also solve the Gamigo Downloader has stopped working" issue.

    If you continue to experience issues during the download and are unable to solve this issue, try using an alternative download method.

    Blue Screen except for UI

    Waiting to retry download GameDataFile.txt or Http cannot connect

    Go to the Twin Saga file folder and find the LauncherMod.ini file. Open it in a text editor, then modify the following values:

    Connection problems

    • If you are unable to connect to the game server at all, attempt to clear your DNS cache
    • Reset your network devices (routers, modems...) by unplugging them from the power outlet. After waiting 30 seconds, plug them back in.
    • Run the game as administrator, by right-clicking the launcher or shortcut and selecting "Run as administrator"
    • Run the game under compatibility mode.
    • Add both Launcher.exe and _Launcher.exe to your Firewall and anti-virus exception lists. Note that steps may vary depending on your computer's operating system and which anti-virus program is installed.
    • Try disabling your User Account Control. UAC can block some programs, so it may possibly be the reason why the game isn't running.

    Screen cut off/UI partially missing/cannot create character

    Blank white box at login/Access Denied/Navigation to the webpage was cancelled
    All Aeria Games login portals use Internet Explorer, so performing these changes on other browsers (e.g. Google Chrome, Firefox...) will not work.

    • Make sure Internet Explorer is updated to the latest available version.
    • Clear Internet Explorer's cache.
    • Reset Internet Explorer's security zone to default.
    • Restart your internet connection.
    • Reset all Internet Explorer settings to default.

    Open File Error For LoadDB

    • Check that you have Chinese language packs installed.
    • Download a free version of NJStar Communicator.

    Game crashes - Capybara error, or randomly closing out


    • Run the game in compatibility mode and as administrator. (See the Connection Problems section.)
    • Perform a file check via the button on the launcher.
    • If running via Steam, right-click Twin Saga in the Library, click Properties, open the Local Files tab, and click Verify Integrity of Game Files...
      • It is normal for a number of files to be marked as corrupted.
    • Make a clean re-installation of the game.
      • If you used the official downloader to install the game, it may not be necessary to re-download the game!
      • Check for the folder C:\Program Files (x86)\AeriaGames\TwinSagaUS. If it exists and there are files inside, you can execute the setup (.exe) file.

    Kicked offline from server

    • Ensure that there are no unnecessary programs currently running. Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open the Task Manager, and end tasks through the Processes tab. For users of Windows 10, you may need to click "More details" first.
    • Attempt to reboot your computer. Some programs run at startup, so verify the above step again.
    • Run the game as administrator by right-clicking Launcher.exe in the game folder). This is not possible if running through Steam.
    • Run Troubleshoot Compatibility on the launcher by right-clicking Launcher.exe. Choose Windows XP SP2 or Windows 7 and save the settings.
    • Add Launcher.exe to your firewall exception list, and also _Launcher.exe if it exists.
    • Add Launcher.exe to your antivirus exception list, and also _Launcher.exe if it exists.

    XIGNCODE Errors or Crashes

    Water is invisible or glitched

    If the water is glitched regardless of water graphics settings, run Twin Saga in compatibility mode for Windows 7 or Windows XP SP3.

    Character automatically turns sideways/related glitchy movement

    Make sure you don't have a game controller plugged into your computer, even if it is not actively being used.

    Twin Saga Monitor Refresh Rate Mismatch

    Unable to see full listings in the auction house
